Doing Search engine optimization & it's different techniques

According to Wikipedia: “Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of increasing the quality and quantity of website traffic by increasing visibility of a website or a web page to users of a search engine.

SEO targets different kinds of searches, including image, video, academic, news, and industry-specific vertical searches.”

As we know, for any type of business, it is very crucial to be present at the right place and the right time to grab more and more customers as compared to the competitors. If your website is not coming at the top of the search engine result page (SERP), it will not get enough amount of traffic as 67% of clicks happens from the top five results (in case of google).

SEO is an organic and unpaid technique, which is used to increase the ranking of your website on SERPs. It not only helps in increasing traffic but also builds the interest of customers towards the website, provides recognition & publicity, increases revenue and builds competitive strength.

There are certain guidelines that we need to follow while performing SEO. It is done mainly through two different techniques i.e. Blackhat and Whitehat SEO. As the name suggests, Whitehat techniques are legal and according to the guidelines of search engine. These are done to ensure a long-term presence and for acquiring broader user base. It takes 3-12 months for the website to rank on the top.

On the other hand, Blackhat techniques are considered unethical and can lead to permanent removal of website. It is done to increase traffic for smaller period of time but it is useful in bringing highest amount of traffic as compared to white hat techniques. By these techniques websites take approx 1-2 months to rank on the top of SERP.

Another technique is Greyhat technique, which is not pure as Whitehat and not manipulative as Blackhat and takes 2-3 months to rank the website on the top of the search engine.
